65 hundred Roses in May
an awareness
campaign
![]()
“65 Roses” has become a well-known phrase that children use to learn to pronounce “Cystic Fibrosis”. To honor Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month (May, 2005) we are continuing a simple awareness campaign that anyone can participate in. To be truly effective, we need you to join in.
Our goal is to get 6500 people, during the month of May, all across the country (…and maybe even worldwide!) wearing a ribbon rose on their shirt, hat, backpack, lapel, ANYWHERE!
The
little roses are so small even guys will wear them, and clever enough to, hopefully,
encourage interest. When people ask what the rose is for, you tell them it’s
for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month. And then you can invite them to your walk,
or give them a rose pin of their own, or guide them to our website.
The
roses can also be used as a fundraiser for the CFF, CFRI or another qualified
organization. Oh, yeah, you can even help raise money for the NCFAC to continue
producing educational CF materials! You get the pins for 25 cents each and ask
for donations of 50 cents or more. Please send the profits in a timely
manner to the organization of your choice!
The
roses are sent with a small card explaining the 65 Roses story and a safety
pin.
You
can order rose ribbons in the MERCHANDISE section of the awareness web site.
